Preliminary workshop results

This is a long overdue post, but frankly it’s because we’ve been busy writing the results of our first two workshops, preparing for and attending a Mobile Unconference early November around the use of mobile technology in the context of crises, and agreeing on research support for the project with the TU Delft and the Leiden University new Peace Informatics Lab. Second workshop with FPU

After the first workshop in Geneva, we have been very busy documenting the results and preparing for the second workshop with FPU. The workshop will be kindly hosted by TU Delft in the coming week. Today we just finished drafting all the PI platform (PIP) features discussed during the Geneva workshop. It will be sent to FPU as reading materials in preparation for the Delft workshop. In a short time we will be on our way to Geneva to run our first requirements elicitation workshop with representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC). Develop PI with the Humanitarian Community

End of July I went to Geneva and presented PI to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in a meeting organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC). I also managed to pitch PI to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) thanks to on the spot contacts who set up a last minute meeting. Read More ...
